Taking your child horseback riding may rank as one of the best childhood memories ever. While there are lots of great local places to take lessons, we think it’s cool (and convenient) that Dallas Equestrian Center Center is located right in the heart of Dallas.

The center welcomes newbies from ages 2 to 80s, including those with special needs, for lessons all week long. Participants start with introductory evaluation lessons that can be rolled into the cost of monthly packages. Remember to wear hard-soled shoes (no tennis shoes) with a small heel; riding helmets are required and provided.

Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 8787 Park Lane, Dallas. Evaluation lessons are $55 for 30 minutes, $65 for 45 minutes, $80 for an hour. Four lessons per month are $200 to $300; prices vary depending on length of lesson. 214-221-9777. parklaneequestrian.dev.
